The Lamonica family has been in the pizza business since 1954 and has been making frozen pizza dough since 1962. Today, they manufacture more than 100 million pounds, of dough, per year!
Recently, Lamonica’s Pizza Dough Co. was looking to expand an existing mezzanine structure in order to support a new piece of equipment for their manufacturing process.
Lamonica’s reached out to The Mezzanine Company to help provide a solution.
The mezzanine would need to be designed to match up cleanly with their existing platform floor and to fit between existing walls and obstructions since this was an active manufacturing facility.
The Mezzanine Company worked closely with Lamonica’s to come up with a design for a 133 square foot work platform mezzanine that would serve their needs. For the flooring, after reviewing a couple options together, we provided diamond grip metal planking.
Once the proposal was accepted, approval drawings were created and our project manager made a site visit to make the final design adjustments. Additionally, we offered to do an analysis of their existing slab and, after PE review, we were able to confirm it would safely support the new column loads without the need for footings.
When the mezzanine was completed production, we arranged for a prompt delivery and coordinated together the best installation schedule. The mezzanine was installed by our local installation team, as planned, and on time, with minimum interruption to operations.
Eddie Villanueva, from Lamonica’s Pizza Dough, had this to say about the services we provided, “The work done was at an affordable cost and great quality…….cost, communication and professionalism.”
