Novartis is a world leader in providing healthcare solutions that address the evolving needs of patients and societies. Recently they were looking to gain some more space in a machine shop at their Morris Plains facility.

Unfortunately, they were all out of available floor space. Novartis contacted The Mezzanine Company to help them make the best use of the open air space of the room that was available, because of the tall ceiling.

We sent our technicians to the site to evaluate the situation and devise a complete solution. After evaluating the space, we provided a design for a 650 square foot platform. We were able to maximize the available space by building it right up against the walls on three sides. The mezzanine was designed with a clear height of 10 feet to leave plenty of room for the operations below.

Also, since Novartis intended to move heavy materials on and off the mezzanine often, we provided a VRC lift with a 5’x5’ platform.

Lastly, we provided heavy-duty shelving for on top of the mezzanine to store their materials.

Since the mezzanine would have heavy traffic, we provided Resindek flooring with Grey Diamond Seal®.

Since the project included products from three different manufacturers and different installation crews, because of the types of products being installed, communication and coordination were essential throughout the project.

Working closely with Novartis, our manufacturers, the freight companies, and our installation crews, we were able to successfully complete the project promptly to Novartis’ satisfaction.
