Great Bridge Garment Care

Founded in 2009, Great Bridge Garment Care is a full service dry cleaner and laundry facility with over 40 years of experience processing garments and textiles damaged by smoke, water, mold, and other contaminants.

Recently, at their Chesapeake location, they were looking to gain some additional space for finished/clean garments and textiles to be stored. Additionally, they were looking for the mezzanine to be integrated with a conveyor solution, so that products could quickly and efficiently be moved to and from the mezzanine.

Since this was an existing building, with an existing hanging Garment on Hanger (GOH) system, the mezzanine and conveyor would need to be designed to work around the system below.

Working closely with the Great Bridge Garment Care, we came up with design for a custom storage mezzanine that met their requirements. The mezzanine was approximately 2,970 square feet, with a capacity of 125lbs/psf.

The mezzanine included a straight run IBC staircase for employee access. Additionally, a floor to floor slide belt conveyor was included and integrated into the mezzanine system.

In order to work around the GOH system below and existing obstructions along the wall, the mezzanine was custom designed with specific column placements.

After the proposal was approved and approval drawings were ready for review, one of our project managers made a site visit and made final adjustments to the designs. Once the mezzanine was ready for shipment, we successfully coordinated the installation with our experienced installer and the conveyor company.
