Copiague Fire Department, Copiague, NY

Founded in 1928, the Copiague Fire Department is a volunteer fire department dedicated to serving the local Copiague, NY community.

Recently, they were looking for some additional space in their annex building for storing store parts, equipment, and materials that are not as regularly used. As they had already maximized the floor space of their building, the Copiague Fire Department contacted The Mezzanine Company about a mezzanine solution.

One of the challenges of the project was that the mezzanine needed to be positioned against a wall with several obstructions.

The Mezzanine Company worked closely with Copiague Fire Department to come up with a design for a storage platform mezzanine that would serve their unique needs. We proposed an approximate 440 square foot platform.

The mezzanine included a straight run OSHA staircase for employee access and a 6’ wide double swing gate to allow for moving materials on and off the mezzanine.

Additionally, the mezzanine was designed with special column placement, so as to enable us to work around the obstructions. As you can see in the project photos, the mezzanine was able to fit snugly against the wall.

Once the proposal was approved, we sent one of our project managers onsite to review the layout drawings with the customer to get the final approval.

After careful planning and efficient communication between all parties, the mezzanine was delivered and installed by our local installation team. The new mezzanine provided the Copiague Fire Department with the storage space needed to support their operations and increase storage.
