The Mezzanine Company is privileged to work with many large successful companies as they expand throughout the years. One such company, Colony Hardware, is an industry leading tool and hardware supplier growing rapidly across the country. We have worked with Colony Hardware on several large projects, including mezzanines in Bronx, NY, Orange, CT, McCook, IL, Landham, MD, and Pembroke Park, FL
Recently, they contacted us again to assist them on designing and providing another storage platform for their expansion in Orlando, Florida.
Some of the challenges of this project would be:
Working closely with the architect for the project, we came up with a design for an approximately 6,000 square foot structure.
The mezzanine would include (3) straight run IBC staircases, in order to provide easy and safe access for their employees, and (2) 5’ wide overhead safety gates, to help provide safe access for the loading of materials onto mezzanine. The project would also include a conveyor for the easy transportation of boxes from the top of the mezzanine to the ground floor.
The mezzanine was custom designed, with specific column placement, to work around the existing building columns and the obstructions along the wall. Additionally, to incorporate the conveyor system into the mezzanine, a cutout was made in the mezzanine platform.
Once the proposal was accepted, our project manager made a site visit to Orlando to make the final design adjustments.
As the shipment date was approaching, we worked closely with Colony Hardware, the conveyor company, and our installation team to target an ideal installation date. Once the mezzanine was delivered, our installation team got right to work.
By coordinating and working together with different trades, The Mezzanine Company was able to complete the project on time and help Colony to stay on target for its next opening date.
