Applied Energy Systems designs, manufactures and installs ultra-high purity and hazardous gas delivery systems for the semiconductor, nanotechnology, photovoltaic and research industries. For over 50 years, their customers have turned to them for high-value systems engineering – including design, manufacturing, integration and training.
Recently, they were looking to make use of the available vertical space in their facility to create additional storage space. Due to having previously worked together on another mezzanine project, Applied Energy Systems reached out to The Mezzanine Company to provide a solution.
Since this would be going into an existing warehouse, the mezzanine would need to be custom designed to work around any obstructions and ongoing operations on the ground floor.
Working closely with Applied Energy Systems, we came up with a design for a rectangular shaped 430 square foot platform that would serve their needs. For the flooring, Resindek would be used.
The platform included a 6’ double swing gate to enable them to load and unload materials from the platform, and an OSHA staircases for employee access
Due to electrical equipment along the wall that the platform butted against, the mezzanine was custom designed with special column placement to cantilever over that equipment (as seen in project photos)
Once the approval drawings were generated, our local project manager made a site visit to make the finishing design adjustments. Additionally, P.E. Stamped Drawings, for the State of PA, were provided for the permitting process.
When the platform production was complete, we arranged for a prompt delivery and coordinated together the best installation schedule. We were able to install the platform, in just 2 days, with minimal impact to their daily operations!
